Here's a sneek peak of the much-anticipated model CS3.7 loudspeaker. Year's in development, the new CS3.7 was unveiled at the recent Consumer Electronics Show and is expected to be available in the next 3-6 months. The price is still to be announced.
Innovative driver diaphragm technology for unprecedented midrange purity
The new CS3.7 is a 3-way, floor standing speaker that utilizes all newly developed drivers. A very high output 1-inch tweeter is coincidently mounted in the center of a 5-inch midrange that incorporates a new ribbed diaphragm geometry. "The new midrange driver diaphragm technology allows unprecedented purity and sweetness of midrange reproduction," says designer, Jim Thiel. "The entire sonic spectrum is completely uncolored by any resonances, ringing, or energy storage from either the midrange or tweeter diaphragms."
The diaphragm geometry of the new 10-inch woofer increases strength for wider bandwidth and reduces weight for higher efficiency. The woofer's output is augmented by an auxiliary bass radiator.
Aluminum cabinet top greatly reduces resonances
The CS3.7's cabinet top is made of formed aluminum that reduces cabinet resonances, reduces diffraction, and reduces internal standing waves.
